The number of violent crimes committed by juveniles peak in the afternoon between 3 and 4 p.m., the hour at the end of the school day. (Adapted from Snyder, H. & Sickmund, M. The Fountain of Hope is an inner city action ministry to help improve the quality of life for youth at risk and economically disadvantaged by offering community-wide programs designed to provide the opportunity and confidence for youths to overcome obstacles. The Fountain of Hope offers a safe harbor away from the hunger, poverty, crime and drugs prevalent in the community; a place to spend the hours after school with loving, dedicated volunteers
The main focus of the ministry is prevention and readiness. Our demographic target is children 5 th grade to seniors in high school, as well as young adults, of low social and economic status, up to 40 youths. F.O.H. responds with compassion to children in need through after school and summer developing programming.
